Welcome

Just a few rambling thoughts and crafts from a mind that is full of both. I am talented in my mind but regularly run full throttle into the wall of procrastination. I have raised procrastination to an art form. A friend once told me I have a BS in BS and a minor in excuse making. If there is anyway to get out of doing my best, I will do my best to get out of it. Welcome to my saburban life. : ).. Lol.

No! You don't need anymore notebooks!

So I've known that I'm a little OCD when it comes
to notebooks and pens, but today it really
came to light.  I kept thinking
that I needed more notebooks and pens
despite the fact that I've definitely got plenty of both.

My inner inbound operator was sparring with my inner
outbound operator this afternoon in a lively
debate over what supplies I might need,
including one quip, "No! You don't need more notebooks!"
in a Tony Montoya voice.  Lol.
K.  I've decided that my 0500-1330 shift either has
me suffering from lack of sleep, or I was
super happy that I got off work at 1:30pm.
I've also decided that this means my husband has watched
Scarface a few too many times around me.

It's kinda like OMG - I'm OCD with a little
ADD tossed in for good meas-Hey there's the FD!ure.

Thought that I was going to have to watch my speed this morning
on the way to work too, but realized every time I looked
I was going 10 miles under the speed limit.
It's going to take a while to get used to that 0500 start,
but I'm definitely loving the early end.  : )..

: /..

Watch the video at your own risk.
I let the pups out while trying to keep the cat in after dark,
only to have one of these ..  mutant camel
crickets in.  I would rather have let the mouse from the
garage in.  Ugghhhghggga!

The mouse wouldn't jump 25 feet at a time.
That's just a slight exaggeration.
I'm betting?  If you let it, this .. thing
Could in fact jump that far or more.
Needless to say, it's not welcome in my house.
Ughhhhhhgghgggh.

I just knew if it wasn't gone, it would find its way down
the hall and be waiting on my pillow when I woke up.
Ughhhgggghhhhhhggh.
: p..  It had to go.
And gone it has.
Ick.

My evening in a nutshell..

We went to our friend's for a Memorial Day BBQ.
We went without any alcohol.
Only took a 2 liter bottle of soda.
They of course, had bought some Crown Royal.
Using pics from previous posts,
this is how it went.
Lol. The food was delish.
 Then?
There are reasons why I don't get into political
conversations, or let others get into politcal
conversations with my spouse.
I needed duct tape.
Lots of duct tape.
Lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of duct tape.
The manufacturers would think that they could stop
producing and retire with the amount I could have used.
 Politics!!
Politics!!
Politics!!
 Ugh.  Lets talk about something
else.  Hey!  How about those Royals?!
"Who cares about the Royals?!
Politics!! Politics!! Politics!!"
 ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!
Politics!!
Politics!!
Politics!!
 Ugh.  : (..
Politics!!
Politics!!
Politics!!
 Ohhhh..  : (..
Politics!!
Politics!!
Politics!!
  Enough already.
Politics!!
Politics!!
Politics!!
Dude.  You all are even killing Will Wheaton.
Politics!!
Politics!!
Politics!!
 AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!
Politics!!
Politics!!
Politics!!
 AFAFHDFAFHAH!
They even wore out the zombies.
Have zombies attacking you?
I can send some people over and it'll
drive the zombies away.
Politics!!
Politics!!
Politics!!
I needed the Crown Royal by the time
the evening was over.
Politics!!
Politics!!
Politics!!
Did I mention, this loud conversation
took place outside, late at night,
despite our repeated requests to keep voices
down?  Neighbors came outside
thinking that something was going on out
there.  They finally stopped at midnight.

Why can't people have normal, quiet,
calm debates about politics?
I'm all Rodney King,
"Can't we all just get along?"
O.M.G.
If I didn't love music so much,
I would have driven rusty spoons through
my ears tonight.
Sigh.
Time to call it a night.

The Spider Who Would Not Die..

Our friends had this little doozie
outside of their apartment
the other day and it
took quite a bit
of work to kill it..
Then they debated what type it was..

Tonight?  I found one in our utility room..
That was about the actual size
of it, and I wasn't taking
any chances.
However, it was also the spider
who refused to die.
I moved, it moved,
I jumped, it jumped,
I jabbed the broom and it ducked..
I don't know what kind mine
was either.  I'm not going to debate it,
all I know, it was huge and it was
in my house.  Lol.
Sorry to all of the spider friends
out there who don't condone killing them.
They need to tell them not to
move into my house and
get that big.
I don't have a picture of mine either
because I was NOT going to get that close to it!

One of our local meteorologists
always said, you are never more than 3 feet
away from a spider at any given moment.
I'm sure that spider probably had
a big spider family and they are probably in our
house as well.  Ack!
I hope not!

Duck and Cover!

Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa had tornados,
Missouri got lucky and was spared.
Round two coming Monday night.
Spent the evening hunkered down with our furbabies
in the basement.

Having already had a heads up that things
could be very severe, we moved everything that
we needed downstairs for safe keeping and waited it out.

Hope everyone stays safe out there!

A man tried to rob a bank after paying $500 to a wizard to make him invisible

A man tried to rob a bank after paying $500 to a wizard to make him invisible
This gives a whole new meaning to the question..
"Have you seen this man?"  Lol.  Great idea though!
Lemme see!  Checking the yellow pages..  Wine..
Wireless..  Women's..  Umm..  Hmm..  Wine..  Wireless..
Women's..  No wizards?!  : /..  Sigh.  Anyone know
any wizards out there?  Anyone?  Wizards?  Anyone?

No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems..

Such a great day for a Royal's baseball game..
So nice and sunny..  : )..
Oooh..  Wait..  I think we'll go another night..
No shoes? Brr! No shirt? No way!
Biiiiiiig problem!
Lol.
The pups love it though.
And there is a positive side to not mowing the grass.
If it snows enough to hide the grass,
no one will ever know.
Or if it doesn't,
we can still say it's only a dusting
because you can see the grass poking through.
Brr.
Those flakes are HUGE.
Spider size.
Big spider size.
Maybe this will kill a few bugs.
Brr.
It's supposed to be in the 70's and 80's by Monday.
I'm sure this won't be the last snow we get
before we are done.  Sigh.
'Nuff already.

Its.Just.A.TV.Show...

Not sure how many others watched Prison Break,
sitting on their seats on pins and needles like we did,
but there were times that I literally had to get up,
walk out of the room and tell myself,
"It's.Just.A.TV.Show!"
Lol.
Like the time Michael was skulking around
behind the walls, after breaking through
the walls in his cell, while his nervous
cellmate stood guard.
I just KNEW he wasn't going to make it back
in time for rounds!!
Ack!!!!
It's a wonder I still had fingernails.
Or fingers.
Or hands for that matter.
Lol.
If ya haven't watched the series,
I dare ya.
I dare ya to feel any less nervous than I was.

Now?  Another show has bumped Prison Break
off of the "It's.Just.A.TV.Show" pedastal.

It's this season's "NCIS".
Ooooh.  After having so many funny seasons,
this one is starting to become a huge
tearjerker.
Between an Iraqi service dog and now
Abby's childhood memories?
Aye Carumba!
I'm going to have to leave the room
telling myself..
"It's.Just.A.TV.Show!"
: /..
Sniff.  Sniff.  Sniff.
Does anybody have a kleenex handy?
Or two?
Or a box?
Ahh..
Sniff.
Its.Just.A.TV.Show.
sniff.
: /
: (
:'(
sniff.

Snoooooow.. Again..

Good news though, had to clean our satellite dish
again, and it only took five throws this time,
got two direct shots right in the middle.
Yay!  : )..

Poor Little Milo..

 Our middle puppy..
  Who broke three toenails..
 Had been doing so well..
Until the other night when he and Fergus,
the puppy, were acting crazy and bouncing
around and jumping on and off the bed
after I came home from work,
and..
Milo got another one of these..
Ouch!  Another broken toenail..
Poor little Milo!
Ouchies!
He hobbled around that night and couldn't
get comfy, kept twitching that foot..
Until we took him to see their "Aunt Chelsea",
our friend and groomer,
who trimmed his broken nail down and
put some superglue on it.
He's better and playing again..
But poor little boy..
Hope he's done with those for a while!

Necessity is the mother of invention..

My friend's house, we got some heavy,
heavy snow that is weighing trees and power lines
down all over town..
Another friend's house and bush..
Even one of our local wineries logged on to submit this picture..
It's the new and upcoming Arcadian Moon winery..
Can't wait to try them out..

Our house?  Just like those pics..
Our satellite on the roof?
Covered in snow and out for a while..
A snow day without satellite?!
I think not! Not when I can chuck a mean
snowball or two!
Ha! Success!  : )..
It was enough to get it back on.
If the neighbors came out,
I was going to yell,
"I guess sometimes, there just aren't enough rocks."
Lol.  We won't tell them why there are a couple
oranges in their backyard though.
(whistling innocently)

Delirious..

Fergus woke up with a fever and acute tonsilitis again
and I woke up with a delirious fever for
nice, warm, sandy places..
Fergus got a shot and some antibiotics..
I got a shoe full of snow..
Hmm..  Not sure which one of us won..

ssssNOOOOOOw.. : (..

Glad I took off today, sorry that some of my co-workers
weren't able to..  Our city news has reported that some of our
highways are parking lots and that ramps are closed.
People are stuck.
I'm stuck at home.
At least there are some amusing things
to watch.
Wish this video came out bigger.
Sorry about the end, the dogs finally figured out
what I was watching.  Lol.
And, yup, the video is upside down at the end.

This is the only good thing about snow..
 Our pups love it..
Here's a snowy little Milo puppy..
And a blurry little snowy Fergus..
Emmy was snowy too, but she headed for warmer
locations in the house..
Maternity cuts (shaved tummy and yes, she's been fixed)
are the bomb in summer,
but don't work well with short legs and lots of coooooold snow..
Lol..  : )..

American Idol 2013..

Not so sure I can endure a whole season of American Idol
this year..  Not because of the people who have made it
through so far..  Although..  Teena??  Zoanette??
Ick.
It's because I don't think that I can make it through
a whole season of my husband lamenting,
"Who IS Nicki Minaj?"
without snapping..
Stay tuned.
It might get interesting.

Nooo.. Snoooow..

After thunderstorms last night,
which included high winds and some hail to boot,
we woke up this morning to snow.
I say Blech!!
I am sooooo not a fan of snow.
Nooo, just say nooo to snow..  : (..
Although, the puppies loved it!
Fergus wasn't so sure at first,
but decided that it was a whole lotta fun.
This is his first real snow picture..
Even though it's blurry and you really
can't see the snow..  Lol..
Here is Emmy's first real snow picture..
Cutie patootie!
And then Milo's first real snow picture..
Who could resist those snowy little faces?
Milo looked like he was outside rollin
snowballs on the back deck this morning,
but stopped before I could grab the camera to
get it on video.  Ohh well,
the snow is still out there with more to come
Christmas morning.
I'll end up getting a better snowy picture of Fergus,
and hopefully I'll be able to catch Milo
rollin snow again.  Lol.
: )..
Puppies.  The only good thing about snow.

TG for Pandora Radio..

Sometimes, here lately, Pandora is my thin grasp on sanity.
That's ok though, because, one, they have some really great music
and two, I've figured out how to change my situation.  Lol.

Wish me luck.  I really need it.
: )..

Craft failures galore..

Had a great idea for a neat picture frame, but alas, I am beginning to think I am not very crafty.  My first attempt at it was a huge craft fail.  Tried to work over it with a flag idea and lemme tell ya, trying to paint stripes while holding one charging puppy off with my left hand wasn't working very well. : (.
Tried starting with tape stripes where the red paint would go and that worked really well.  The white paint went on great with my little spongy roller brush.  Success!  Yay!  Looked great!

If only it would have stayed that way.  When it came to painting the red stripes?  Everything kept pulling my dry white paint off.  : (..  I tried loosely contacted tape.  The red paint bled underneath.  Tried some frog tape, and although it stuck better, I still had red paint bleeding under it as well.  : (..  Worst of all?  My quote that was my original craft fail has continously appeared through countless layers of paint.  Lol.  Ok.  I give.  The crafts have beaten me this week.  It wasn't even a fair fight.  I give.  No mas.  I'm really starting to think that this stuff is not in my skill set.

I could teach you all about how to handle your alarm accounts, from the fact that you can set up temporary passwords and keypad codes for guests, workers, babysitters, realtors, etc to the fact that you can dictate how your alarms are handled.  If you want to be called 24/7 on all signals, the company can do that.  If you only wish to be called from a certain time of day to a certain time of night, the company can do that.  I can explain every signal that my company covers, and can tell you all kinds of interesting things on how to manage an account.  I can't craft this week to save my life.  Good thing I'm in the alarm service field.  Lol.  : )..  I can run circles around most of the people that I work with.  As long as it's not making crafts.  Whew.  Nooo mas!  Por favor!

I am unfortunately missing out on the DebbieDoo's Newbie party this week.  There's nooo way I'm putting that craft fail anywhere near that link.  Lol.  I'll try again next time.  C'est un terrible!  (pardon my french, that's one of the few phrases I kind of remember, maybe French isn't in my skill set either.)

Alrighty.  Going to relax and add some more music to my iphone.  : )..  Laters!

When it rains it pours.. Lol..

So, after missing the semi truck for a full week, now our poor old Dodge finally sputtered to a stop.  It's a 1994 Dodge Ram, with well over 260,000 miles on it.  We had to replace the fuel pump a few years ago because it stopped running.  $200 later and after Dutch and his friend Dan replaced that, Dutch wished they had cleaned out the gas tank.  It kept shuddering and choking if it dipped below half a tank of gas.  Finally, today?  The fuel pump went out again.  Another $200 later, and after Dutch cleaned the gas tank this time, it's back up and running like a champ.  Moral of the story?  Lol.  When it rains and pours, keep a mechanic close at hand.  Whew!  Yay for Dutch.  : )..

Whut? Our big truck was stolen.. : (..

It seems that some hoodlum was up to some no-good shenanigans, some time between yesterday afternoon and 4am this morning.  Someone seems to have absconded with Dutch's semi truck and the trailer of irrigation tires that he had hooked up for his run to Lexington, NE.  We are guessing that they thought they were tractor tires instead.  Luckily the truck, and I'm sure the load, were insured, but that really was a great truck.  He just spent $8,000 overhauling the engine last year.  Hopefully they will abandon it somewhere and not strip and scrap it.  : (..  I'm sure he won't be able to find such a great truck again.  Especially one with practically a brand new engine.

We bought it used in 2005 and he's been able to make a really good living with it up until today.  We paid for it in full, so it's never had a loan on it, so it's been nothing but profit ever since then.  We live in the KC, MO area and I posted pics on facebook, and have had friends who are sharing the pics as well.  Dutch filed a police report this morning, so hopefully it will turn up without any damage.  He said there were tire tracks where the person or persons who stole it, drug the trailer because they didn't wait for the air brakes to air up before taking off.

He parks it down a side road off of one of the biggest trucking routes in town, so there aren't a whole lot of people that live down that way, and those that do, are used to hearing his truck leave at all times of the day and night.  : (..  Soo, to the hoodlum hooligans who absconded with the truck and trailer, shame on you.  Get a real job instead of taking someone else's.  Didn't your mother teach you any better than that?  Tsk, tsk, tsk!  You should be ashamed.  Now drop it off and leave it somewhere intact.  Pronto.  Ya hooligan!
