Welcome

Just a few rambling thoughts and crafts from a mind that is full of both. I am talented in my mind but regularly run full throttle into the wall of procrastination. I have raised procrastination to an art form. A friend once told me I have a BS in BS and a minor in excuse making. If there is anyway to get out of doing my best, I will do my best to get out of it. Welcome to my saburban life. : ).. Lol.

Jazz!

Caught up with some great friends
at Jazz, A Louisiana Kitchen
at the Legends Mall in Kansas tonight..
 We had alligator bites,
which kind of tasted like clams..
We made our friend Angie try some..
Lol..  This was the before picture..
She wasn't too keen on trying alligator..
And probably less keen after she tried it..
Ha!  It really wasn't too bad, kinda yummy!
We found out that our waiter only moonlighted
as one a couple days of the week..
His real job?
He's a firefighter.
: ).. Right on..
And also kind of appropriate that we were
hanging out with the woozy co-worker
that started all of our firefighter obsessions..
Yikes!  I had the Shrimp Czarina,
which was delishus, but whew!
SPICY!!  I should have remembered to have them
go a little light on the Cayenne Pepper..
And to top it all off?
One of our friends won a free order
of beignets with her Front Flip iphone app.
Deeeelishus!

After eleven work days in a row,
I have one day off tomorrow..
Then back to work..
Whew.

Can we say "Squeeeeeeee?!"
I sure can!

Great TShirt Idea.. : )..

I'm not a quilter..
I'm not good at sewing..
Sooo, for those who might be
challenged by those activities,
we have options.

I have several shirts that I've held onto
for sentimental reasons.
Now?  I have options for that as well.
Stretching them and stapling them to canvas.
Whatta great idea.  : )..
Love it.

Oooh My Gush.. Yes Please!! : )..

Sooo, our Missouri Wine Board and wineries
have come up with recipes made with
various wines.
Sounds yummy.
Like..  This..

Blackberry Wine Cake..
Winery: St. James Winery
Ingredients:
1 cup Blackberry wine
½ cup chopped pecans
1 (2 layer) box white cake mix
1 3-oz box berry flavored gelatin
½ cup vegetable oil
4 eggs

Glaze Ingredients:
½ cup St. James Winery Blackberry Wine
1 cup powdered sugar
½ cup (1 stick butter)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Grease and flour a bundt pan. Sprinkle pecans in the bottom. In a large bowl, stir together cake mix and gelatin. Add eggs, oil, and 1 cup of wine; blend thoroughly. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Bake 50-60 minutes until cake tests done. Remove from oven; turn out onto wire rack to cool.
Meanwhile, combine the powdered sugar, butter and ½ cup wine in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat.
Pour ½ the mixture over the warm cake; let set for 30 minutes. Pour remaining glaze, which will have thickened somewhat, over cake.

That sounds scrumptidly delishus!!

: )..

Dominican Republic.. : )..

One of our wine mob members spent two weeks
visiting her daughter in the DR, who is down there
volunteering with Outreach 360.
They are there, teaching kids who otherwise
wouldn't be able to attend school.
Here are some great pics from her trip.
 I love palm trees.
This pic though?  I'm thinkin that's going to be my next work screensaver.
Those gorgeous, vibrant colors will definitely cheer me up!
I might not get too much work done though,
I might spend all day gazing at the desktop.
Lol.  : )..

By the way, update on the Secret Project Take 2..
Still getting a little rub off on the pics..
Hmm..  Letting it sit for a bit to rub more paper off..

Sunday Fun..

Worked at the group home from 7am until 9pm last night,
and had to muddle through a trip to the grocery store..
Lol..  Although, the firefighters sure did make it a lot better..
I had a better shot, but it came out too blurry to use..
Ever since our woozy co-worker summoned the firemen
at work, there has been something about those guys in uniform..
: )..
 Got another taste of home,
a bag of chips from Fulton's Backer's Potato Chip Plant..
It's the town that I grew up in,
and it's about 140 miles from where I am now..
Our local Price Chopper's carry these in their dollar aisle..
And we found out that our friend's son is being featured and promoted
to several NFL teams for this year's consideration..
Andy is going to be seen by 32 different teams on Axios Sports Management's
Pro Day.  Way to go Andy!!  Good luck!!!

I was wayyyy to tired to do much after getting back home,
so my Sunday fun was delayed by a day..
(Also, lol, please disregard the running commentary on the
Los Lobos Locos video.  Men and legal Moonshine don't mix
very well.  However, that saxophone that is being played, costs
$6,000.  Wow!  Hearing the great sounds it makes, I can bet it does!)

: )..

Early mornin, about to crash for the night when I got a surprise on Facebook.  : )..  Wow.  Wasn't expecting that at all, but it's a great one.  I'll take whatever I can get.  Awesome.  Woot!

Secret Project Update..

It does work, but I need to work on the last step a little..
I think I must have gotten it a little too wet..
The paper backing came off, but so did part of the picture..
There are a lot of tips on the video that shows how
to transfer pictures to wood and it says to
barely wet the paper to remove it..
I tried that, but it didn't really
start coming off until I
used more water..

I'll get it figured out though..
It can be done!
It will be done!
Just a matter of practice,
practice,
practice!
And it'll be well worth the work!
: )..

Another yummy Pinterest Find..

Aww.

Aww.  I'm glad I watched this tonight.  I'll be at a SuperBowl party tomorrow when it airs.  I would have been a blubbering mess if I hadn't seen it tonight.  Lol.  Such a sweet commercial.  Grab the kleenexes though.  By the way, this foal in the beginning, is in Boonville, MO, which is kind of close to where I grew up, it's about 40 miles from Fulton.  : )..  The foal was only one week old when they took his video, and he's only two weeks old now.  Alright, nuff sniffling for the night, gotta work at my old group home for the next two months on Sunday mornings.

Fake Out Breakfast Burritos..

I love breakfast burritos.
It's my second favorite breakfast,
right behind the delicious Eggs Benedict.
However, they are always messy,
no matter how I roll them,
my salsa always runs out the folded end
and drips on me.
I am "Field of Dreams" with food.
If it drips, I will wear it.
Went to a swanky, posh, hoity toity
brunch one day and actually made it the entire meal,
until I had their drippy biscuit gravy.  Dang it!
I was being super, duper, extra careful.  : /..

Anyway, back to the burritos.
We had a bag of tortillas that must have gotten
closed before they cooled enough,
so no matter what we tried, they all stuck to
one another and ripped when we pulled them apart.

What to do?  What to do?  What to do?
Why fight it?  Aha!
I tore them to pieces, lined my
bowl and piled on my ingredients.
Sooo good.  Sooo easy.  Sooo less messy!
Woot, Woot!

 Torn tortillas..
 Browned and drained sausage and
scrambled eggs.
All together with cheese and salsa.

Paired with some yummy,
non Smirnoff Orange Juice,
makes for a pretty delish, quick and
easy breakfast for those
who don't have a lot of time in the morning.
: )..
And..  I didn't drip once.
Yay!

Spring Fever..

Had a great, warm day today.
We have had a pretty easy couple of winter's
the past two years, getting less than 6" of
snow each year, which is fine by me.
However, we did just go through a bit of a
cold, artic snap that was an eye opener.
Yikes!  I am sooo not a cold weather fan.
Today was fantastic!
The puppies even agreed, wanting to go
outside and play for hours on end.
The trees were starting to show buds
before the cold snap.  I'm sure they were also hoping
it was going to be Spring soon.
I love Spring because everything is coming back to life,
and everything is turning green and
warm weather is on it's way.
It's supposed to be 65 degrees tomorrow.
I get to go to work late,
so you can bet, I'll be taking advantage
of those warm, lovely temps!
: )..

Quick and Easy Breakfast Skillet

Another one of my projects waiting to be loaded
on my blog..  A yummy, ham and veggie,
cheesy egg breakfast delight that I whipped up.

I chopped half an onion..
  Added some chopped red pepper..
 And some diced ham..
I sauteed the veggies, and then added the ham..
Whipped up four eggs and a little splash of milk..
And cooked the eggs until they were nice and scrambled,
then added some shredded cheese on top.
 Served with some buttered bread,
it was pretty yummy.  : )..
And it was quick and easy, peasy..
No link to recipes for this one..
Strictly me adding whatever sounded good.

I teamed it up with my yummy fake mimosa..
Orange Juice and an original flavor
Smirnoff Ice..  Deeeelicious!
And such a great way to enjoy breakfast on a day off!
Ummmm Hmmm!

Ham And Apple Panini's.. : )..

Aha!  I'm back in business!
Finally fixed the issues Firefox had
when I tried to access my blog through their
browser.  Blogger and Internet Explorer are still
having photo issues, so I'll be off IE for a while.

I've been busy over here, despite having a couple
weeks of loading videos on my page.  I've had a couple
wine mob meetings.  I've started another winner, winner,
chicken dinner winery passport tour program.
And...

I made some deeeelishus Ham and Apple Panini's.
Apples?  On a sandwich?
You betcha!

I sliced my apples and cooked them just a little
so they weren't so crunchy.
 Added some yummy Almond butter,
or as my boss calls it, "ALmond Butter".
Lol.
Added a couple slices of ham..
 Added my apple slices..
Put the other piece of bread on..
(I buttered both sides of my bread..)
Since we don't have a handy, dandy
panini press, I decided to try my co-workers
suggestion, and used our handy, dandy
Quesadilla maker instead..
Worked like a charm!
 And ended up with this..
A yummy, super delicious ham and apple
panini sammich for lunch.
: )..
Easy, peasy and sooo yummy!
Just the way I like it.

for quite a while, I'm linking up again.
: )..
