Welcome

Just a few rambling thoughts and crafts from a mind that is full of both. I am talented in my mind but regularly run full throttle into the wall of procrastination. I have raised procrastination to an art form. A friend once told me I have a BS in BS and a minor in excuse making. If there is anyway to get out of doing my best, I will do my best to get out of it. Welcome to my saburban life. : ).. Lol.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner?

My friend and I have been working through a tour of Missouri Wineries and have gotten to the point where we have qualified for a wine tasting / pairing party for 10 people.  We have already qualified and received a Missouri Wine corkscrew, bar towel and apron.  We get to select three top winery choices to have our party.  Here are two strong contenders.

I really loved Belvoir Winery.  Historical, sprawling, delicious, welcoming, and reportedly haunted.  It used to house clients that were elderly, indigent or orphaned boys.  They have spent several years fixing up the main building, growing the grapes and fruit crops and starting their winery.  It has three dining rooms, the tasting wine and bar area and an ice cream and deli shop.  I really loved their Sorelle Dulci, a delicious sweet white wine, that will never need a shot of soda as a spritzer.  Sooo good.  Yum mee!  : )..  Here are some pics from their website..

However!  Fence Stile Winery in Excelsior Springs, MO has stepped up to the plate and thrown it's hat into our tasting / pairing party contest.  : )..  I thought that there was a winery in that area, but wasn't 100% sure.  Here are the pics from their website..

They are having a fun event next Sunday that I am seriously thinking of attending.  It's their last harvest for the year, and those who attend and help them bring in the grapes will be given a hot lunch when the day is done.  That and a glass of wine?  Hmm, whatta way to end the day.  I believe that I might just hafta jump on that.  : )..

As for the chicken dinner...  Umm...  Wine tasting / pairing party?  Lol...  I'm leaning heavily toward Fence Stile right now.  Any one else??
Ahhh...  Decisions, decisions, decisions...

(I am linking up to DebbieDoo's Newbie Party for a few extra opinions to help me decide)

  3. Thanks Debbie and Cindy! I really loved Belvoir too. It has so much history and they have not only embraced it, but incorporated it into their winery. They have old pictures, schoolwork, mirrors and stained glass windows hung throughout the interior. They also welcome guests to stroll around the winery and grounds. I really love how welcoming they are. No one is a stranger once they walk in the door.

Also, thanks for following me Cindy! I am also following your site as well. I love your page and all of your items on there. You are so creative and I love how your items turn out. Those necklaces are awesome, the recipients will be so blessed. : ).. I also believe in angels, and feel as though some of my loved ones still look out for me. I will have to send you an email about that. It's very nice to meet you as well, thanks so much for stopping by!!

  4. IMOP, it would have to be Belvoir Winery; one because it is a historical building, two it is supposedly haunted and three it is just gorgeous!

    Hope that helps. :o)

    Have a wonderful week.

  6. Thanks Tina and Myric! I am still thinking about Belvoir, the history, the grounds, and the delicious wines! It's definitely gorgeous! The reason I'm thinking Fence Stile is that it's getting cold around here and they have a fire pit that is screaming, "come sit and enjoy your wine around me!" and they seem to have a place to sit and do the wine tasting. If Belvoir has a place to sit and thoroughly enjoy our party, I am alll for it too! They really did have some great tasting wines! Oooh, decisions, decisions, decisions! : ).. And thank you for visiting and following me Myric! I will definitely visit your page as well! I love finding new blogs as well!

  7. That place probably is rich in history! Which I also love.
Sorry I can't help you make decisions. I am usually bad at it lol! But oh well, I trust you will do just fine. Either way, sounds promising.

  8. Belvoir definitely has the history. I think it's been around since around 1883? The history is kind of hard to determine if that was when the original building was built. Looks like it was burned in 1900 when they were trying to thaw frozen pipes. It has been several things since then. And don't feel bad about not being able to help me decide. Actually, the opinions of everyone supporting Belvoir helps me stay focused and remember why it was my first choice. : ).. I'm not too worried as to making the wrong decision because my friend also qualified for a wine tasting / pairing party as well, sooo technically we can have two of them. I'm starting to come back around to Belvoir, especially after wanting some more of their Sorelle Dulci. Yummy!

  9. They both sound terrific! I live near the Fingerlakes region of NY, so we hit the wine tours often. The late harvest wines are just so yummy, I'm sure they'll be sharing some of those when you go. Looks like both wineries would be winners. Thanks for sharing.

I'm hosting my monthly Before Blogging Throwback Thursdays Party and would love for you to drop by and share something you made / did / bought sometime Before Blogging. Can't wait to see what you bring to the party.
