Welcome

Just a few rambling thoughts and crafts from a mind that is full of both. I am talented in my mind but regularly run full throttle into the wall of procrastination. I have raised procrastination to an art form. A friend once told me I have a BS in BS and a minor in excuse making. If there is anyway to get out of doing my best, I will do my best to get out of it. Welcome to my saburban life. : ).. Lol.

My throat, my throat, my throat is on fire..

Ouch.  My cough has all but gone away until I move around, get up or lay back down.  However, my throat is soo raw and sore right now.  I kept waking up last night, thankfully, dh had to get up at 4am and leave for work.  I am sitting here, sipping some yummy, warmed beef broth.  I think I am going to keep plenty of that on hand, plus stop by somewhere and pick up some kind of medication for sore throats.  Wow.  Whatever this was, I would have rather had a Mack truck hit me.  Yikes.  I am going into work early today.  Going to do an early in / early out.  Got some stuff to do before one of my friends from Jefferson City comes in for our winner, winner chicken dinner winery winner dinner on Saturday.  : )..

We are decorating our boss's pod with all kinds of red items for an American Heart Association challenge.  We ran with a theme that should hopefully give us an edge over the rest of the floor.  Yay.  We decided to make it a QA theme and put hearts up, asking the floor reps to keep their Unit Managers (one day shift, one evening shift and one night shift) hearts healthy by being the highest scored QA group.  We are checking the QA scores for the last three months to determine which Unit Manager's team had the highest scores and that group gets to come and pick up some heart healthy snacks.  I'm bringing two big red plastic bowls and stopping by to grab some heart healthy snackages before I get to work this morning.

I think I might even kick in a red tile "trophy" for the Unit Manager to display for the time being.  That way we can also tie it into a progress challenge and have it be a traveling trophy.  I think this will really be a great way to celebrate this cause.

ADT has really gotten into the charity / volunteering kick the past two years.  We had a car wash, cell phone recycle, blanket and towel drive and a host of other items as well.  This year we are collecting pennies to go towards a couple of kid charities.  We have collected over $600 in just two weeks.  That penny drive will last for three months.  I can only imagine how much we will end up with if that's how well it's started.  I have pennies to donate for days.

Alrighty, beef broth has almost been consumed and my throat is feeling a little better.  Time to get this day started.  : )..  And time to get the tile going!  Woot.  I'll post pics when we take them.

  3. Whew. I made it through about 7 hours of work and then called it a day. I had a dr's appointment and ended up with a zpak of antibiotics and another prescription for codeine cough syrup (they added cherry to it and it's really pretty good this time!). I came home and went to bed at 6pm, waking up to let the puppies out and to get some Aleve and some more cough syrup. My throat doesn't hurt non-stop now, just when I drink, eat, talk and cough. It was all that plus, breathing, sitting still, etc before that. Wow. This wasn't the average little sore throat. Yikes!
