So far, I am still continuing to maintain a healthier lifestyle when eating. I haven't fallen off the bandwagon yet, but I think I might have grabbed a few no-no's along the way and had them join me on my ride. Nothing big, nothing detrimental. I feel better, although I am still staying up way too late for the fact that I still have to get up way too early. I have noticed other changes as well. It's still hard to hear how others are shedding pounds like water on other diets, but I'm betting a slow loss is probably better than a rapid weight loss any day.
I don't feel hungry during the day because I will snack on healthy items between meals, such as carrots, red, yellow or orange bell peppers, green onions, etc. I don't let myself get to the point where I am starving because that's when I grab the wrong things. We bought a fresh pineapple this weekend that really hit the spot. We bought mangos and bananas and I'm thinkin a smoothie sounds pretty yummy right about now.
I scour Pinterest, the internet and library books for recipes that are healthy and those that don't cost an arm and a leg to make. Even though we don't live paycheck to paycheck, we would if we bought some of the gluten-free items! Wow. Dutch says, "It must cost a lot to take the gluten out of products." Lol. I'm thinking it costs that much because people will still pay exorbitant amounts of money to eat well. Especially those who absolutely have to. We are maintaining a gluten-free diet without all of the expensive items, choosing to eat fresh and healthy foods instead.

Anyway, that being said, I love seafood. Especially shrimp and fish. Tilapia is definitely one of my favorites. This lifestyle change is soo doable because it still allows me to eat items that I already love. Here is another delicious sounding tilapia recipe. : ). Yummy! Can't wait to give it a shot!
Deelishus.
: )..
Hey Jan, good for you eating healthy! Have you read how I lost 25 pounds? I started last year mid-June and it took me until November to lose the weight. Starting the day off with a protein shake and lower carbs was the key for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Pam! I have been trying to keep on the right track. So far no cravings or crankiness. Lol. Congrats on your weight loss as well! Sounds like you went the sensible way as well. That's great to know that someone else succeeded by going slow and easy too. : ).. I will definitely be checking out your blog to find your information. I might try the protein shake as well. I know that this change says to keep carbs under 50grams a day. Not sure if that sounds right. I think I've been doing that, so hopefully it's working. Thanks for the support! I appreciate it!
