Welcome

Just a few rambling thoughts and crafts from a mind that is full of both. I am talented in my mind but regularly run full throttle into the wall of procrastination. I have raised procrastination to an art form. A friend once told me I have a BS in BS and a minor in excuse making. If there is anyway to get out of doing my best, I will do my best to get out of it. Welcome to my saburban life. : ).. Lol.

Monday, Monday..

Made it through the day with ease, even though it was a Monday.  I've been sniffling and sneezy for a couple days now, but thankfully I'm sure that it is just allergies instead of a cold.  I'm not the only one suffering from these issues.  It's a non-stop tirade of, "Bless you!" at work in our quality assurance hole in the wall.  Lol.  We are all taking turns at sneezing and blessing others.  : )..  Sooo, after today's sneezy work day, and a eye watering supper preparation while cutting an onion, I have decided to add a couple tips and tricks for today's...  errrr..  this evening's post.  Monday kind of snuck up on me and I almost forgot to post.  I'm guessing that's a good thing?  Anyway, on to the tips and tricks...

If you suffer from allergies, find someone who sells locally grown honey.  Try and get it as close to your home as possible.  The bees that create the honey will have gathered the pollen that causes your allergies and the honey will help you become immune to those triggers.  Eat at least a teaspoonful per day.  This won't be a problem for me!  I love honey.  I grew up with a mother who loved having a piece of toast with honey as we watched the Young & the Restless.  Never mind the fact that as a young and impressionable child, I grew up not wanting to eat a home cooked meal because the soap stars rarely had to eat one, and I have a phobia of staying home by myself at night because someone was skulking around Kay Chancellor's house once with a tire iron!  Lol.  I digress.  I love honey, and a teaspoonful per day?  Delicious!  For sure!  Not a problem at all.

Cutting onions and your eyes are watering?  It's from the juice inside.  There are a few things that you can try.  Put a cracker or a piece of bread in your mouth and cut the onion.  Either one will keep the onion from causing your eyes to water.  Toss the cracker or bread when you are done.  Or, if you don't need a juicy onion, once you have cut it open, run the cut end under a stream of water and squeeze out some of the juice.  You should be able to cut it without the same teary side effects.

If you have weeds that grow in the yard but you don't want to use a harsh, dangerous chemical, spray them with a mixture of water and vinegar.  Or you can also try spreading ashes around the area as well.

And click here for a great site that has a lot of other tips and tricks, including this great one..
Trouble opening zip top baggies?  Cut a corner off of the bag without cutting the zipper and you can always grab it and open it with ease.
