Welcome

Just a few rambling thoughts and crafts from a mind that is full of both. I am talented in my mind but regularly run full throttle into the wall of procrastination. I have raised procrastination to an art form. A friend once told me I have a BS in BS and a minor in excuse making. If there is anyway to get out of doing my best, I will do my best to get out of it. Welcome to my saburban life. : ).. Lol.

Burlappin..

Soo, again, when I was working at the group home, I found this lovely little craft item on Pinterest.  Someone had a great idea to cover bricks with fabric to create bookends.  : )..  Hmm.  Great idea!
Here was my inspiration..

Found somewhere here,
sorry, they don't seem to have a very
user friendly, find a craft
menu..

And here is my version,
with a little suggestion from one of
the great ladies at JoAnn's
in Kansas City.
Oooh, that would really look
great with burlap!
(Second burlap craft,
and I am already starting
to dislike burlap.  Lol.
It comes apart too easily,
it's hard to manuever,
but I really do like the
look of the finished project,
soo, I'll stick with it for now.)

Voila!

I stenciled on my Fleur De Lis' prints,
because I have always loved them.
: )..

Not quite soo easy peasy this time.
And I itch.  Lol.
But, ha!  I beat the burlap and won.

I'm also linking up to DebbieDoo's
Newbie party once again this week.
She's got some crazy great ideas,
and some crazy talented newbies!

Update: I am also bringing this crafty
little project back around again,
linking up with SimplyKlassicHome's
linky party!  : )..

Another great website with some
great projects.  That
Chicken and Bacon Mac'n Cheese
really sounds delish!  Yummy!

    1. Thanks Linda! It was definitely begging for a stencil, especially with the rich chocolate of the burlap. I love how the stencils came out. Nice and crisp. : )..

    1. Thanks Michelle! The handprints or footprints of newborns and kids would definitely be a great idea. Those could make some great baby presents too. As long as the new parents wouldn't mind their new babiy's hands being painted for a second. I always use the kind that washes right off. : ).. Great idea! I have several people who either have newborns or are still expecting.

  7. Great idea especially since I picked up 4 yards of burlap at the thrift store yesterday and didn't know what I was going to do with it. The price was right o I had to get it. So it was lucky that I found you! I love fleur de lis too.

    1. Thanks Stephanie, I get a lot of my ideas from Pinterest, especially the burlap ones. I love that site, lol, and I'm not alone. Someone pinned a cute quip saying we need a Pintervention! You can search for specific items or ideas too, as well as click on other pinners boards and find older ideas. You are always welcome here and Debbie (our host), Eleven-O-One and Funky Junk Interiors are all such great burlap idea sites to check out! Good luck! Can't wait to see whatcha come up with! : ).
