Welcome
Just a few rambling thoughts and crafts from a mind that is full of both. I am talented in my mind but regularly run full throttle into the wall of procrastination. I have raised procrastination to an art form. A friend once told me I have a BS in BS and a minor in excuse making. If there is anyway to get out of doing my best, I will do my best to get out of it. Welcome to my saburban life. : ).. Lol.

Greaserama Meet Issac..
Soo, it's almost the Labor Day weekend. Normally, we would be on vacation and I would be loving the break from work. However, the past three years have been "staycations".
Dutch's mom flew in from Texas a couple years ago and went to the Jack Johnson concert with us. Loved that! Dutch spent most of the time rebuilding his hotrod tbucket, taking it from a 307 small block Chevy engine to a 406/407 (apparently, they are the same thing, lol) small block Chevy engine with over 550 horsepower. Yeah. It needed that. Dutch's hotrod has as much testosterone as he does.
Last year, we had Emmy and Milo, and Dutch spent the summer running around in his hopped up hotrod. Yay. Awesome. Hoo rah. Whatever.
This year? Another staycation. This year, just a three day holiday weekend.
The past two years have also been spent at Kansas City's "Greaserama". It's a rat rod convention that runs the same weekend that the Good Guy's hotrod show hits town. We will be chock full of hotrods and testosterone alllll holiday weekend long. Yay. Awesome. The difference between Greaserama and the Good Guys shows are glaringly apparent. The vehicles that are towed into Good Guys have been spit shined and kept in a garage. They are referred to as, "Trailer" or "Garage" queens because they aren't driven much. The ones that are towed into Greaserama? They are towed in because they don't run or probably don't even have an engine in them. If you dared to venture close enough to try and spit shine a rat rod, it's owner would probably beat ya. Lol.
Anyway, here are some pictures of last year's Greaserama.
Dutch's hopped up hotrod..
Dutch and his hotrodding friend Steve
motoring through the parking lot at the show.
Steve has a 1930's Ford Coupe.
A pretty nice lookin rat rod..
A hopped up delivery wagon..
Does your hotrod have a cracked headlight?
Nooo problem, just add water and live fish..
Btw, no fish were hurt during that adventure.. Lol..
Dutch and Steve went to that Saturday's show
and then went by the Good Guys location too because Steve
wanted to go. They were only gone for about eight hours,
instead of a whole day like I thought they would..
Dutch asked if I wanted to go for a little while
that Sunday, saying, "We won't stay very long."
Hmm.
We got there at noon and left around 10pm.
Will I be going this year?
Not a chance.
Soo, this year, Greaserama and Good Guy's have
a friend coming to town. His name is Issac. He
washed up on the Southern shore sometime Wednesday..
He's coming up here sometime this weekend. He is
supposed to be pretty wet. And still moving sloooow..
I'm sure the car show will look a lot like this..
I'm hoping that Issac keeps the hotroddin to a minimum..
However, there's no accounting for testosterone overflow,
especially when there are plenty scantily clad women who will
gladly lower all of our standards and sprawl all over old,
unshined, rusting vehicles.
Men. Scantily clad ladies.
Whatever. I'm staying home and enjoying the peace and quiet!
And the rain. : )..

Chandler tries to make a present
This is how I feel when I try and create something original. Lol. Alrighty then.
Soo, DebbieDoo and Fox Hollow Cottage are having another Pin The Tail on
the Bloggy party this Friday and I am wanting to come up with something
original, but dang, it's tough. There are so many great ideas out there on
Pinterest already, it's hard not to want to copy something and change it up
a little bit. Thought about doing Rachel Ray's Fake Out Deep Fried Ice Cream,
but it still won't be an original idea. I loooooove her recipe for that, you can
find it here.. Anyway, I still have two days to figure something out. : )..

Lol..
Milo says, "I wish I was a little bit taller,
I wish I was a baller"
because then he just knows that he could get
that cat that keeps tormenting him on the
other side of our fence.. : )..
He just wants to play with it..
Why oh why couldn't he be..
just THAT much taller..
Why oh why couldn't he be..
just THAT much taller..

Misty Harvest..
Soo, after soo many days and weeks and months of drought conditions, this morning's grape harvest at the Fence Stile Vineyard in Excelsior Springs started out a little misty. I stopped and grabbed a couple 88 cent rain ponchos on my way to meet my co-worker, who also braved the rainy start. We were harvesting the Vidal Blanc grapes this time. There were twelve full, lush, vibrant rows, and less than 30 people who volunteered to help. Amazingly, twelve rows later, we gathered over 9,000 pounds of grapes, and filled eleven full crates of fruit. It was too rainy and muddy for them to run the crusher this time, so they popped the corks on their newest wine, "Sejour", which means, "Visit". It was pretty delish. These were the first bottles of the new addition, they hadn't opened any before.
All in all, despite the mist, it was another great, therapeutic harvest. Here are some of the pics.. : )..
Genea pickin some of the taller grape clusters..
We had some long, lush grapes this time..
Some of our pickin group volunteers..
I'm betting those grapes are going
to make one heck of a delishus wine!
Enjoying a little sweet Missouri Vignole
at the end of a long morning..
Hmm.. Missouri wines don't
taste like asphalt to me.. Of course,
then again, I don't remember ever tasting
asphalt before.. Even Missouri hicks know
better than to lick the asphalt.. Wine snobs
can keep away from alllll of our Missouri
wines. We'll be more than glad to drink it all.
Ha! Yummy!

Easy, peasy breakfast..
I don't do a lot of the cooking, luckily, my husband is good at that, or we have simple things. Lol. However, I was feeling a little industrious this morning and amazingly had enough of the ingredients, or similar substitutions, so I tossed this together and went on my merry little way.. : )..
The last breakfast casserole was too
greasy for Dutch, so I browned my
sausage and poured off the grease this time..
I layered the sausage in..
Put a couple handfuls of the cheddar and mozzeralla
cheese in..
Put one cup of milk and
three eggs in a bowl and mixed them..
Poured the milk and egg mix over the cheese..
Substituted some french fries for hashbrowns..
Cooked it for 45 minutes at 350 degrees..
Let it cool for over 10 minutes and
enjoyed a nice, easy, peasy, yummy breakfast..
And I found it listed on Pinterest, of course,

Chiefs.. Yay.. Ooooh..
We started this preseason with such hope, after beating the Arizona Cardinals and having all of our walking wounded return from last season. We lost Cassell, Berry, McCluster, Moecki, and several others. They came back with a vengence during that game. Then, we played the St. Louis Rams...
We didn't do so well. And now? We are playing the Seattle Seahawks. Although, I spent the night watching 20/20's airing of the Jaycee Dugard story, I think I picked the right channel. I missed seeing Dewayne Bowe while he was out, negotiating a contract during the first couple games. Not sure if he was in there tonight. He's one of my favorites. People get down on him because he drops the ball at times, but lemme tell ya! When he catches them, those catches are spectacular! : )..

Opposing coaches have lost soo many time outs
disputing the validity of his circus catches. Lol.
Can you see why? : )..
And, yup! He caught that one and it was good!
Go Bowe!!
Another bright spot during the first game was
the addition of Peyton Hillis this year.
He was great during the first game.
I'll get back to watching the games again
so I will know how well he has done since then.
We lost to the Rams.
We were getting whooped by the Seahawks.
We might have a good season,
or, we might have another bad one.
Either way, win or lose,
we still love our Chiefs.
: )..

I love those colors, such
a gorgeous flower!
And finally, a lovely, relaxing
water feature.. Until it makes me
need to go.. Lol.. : )..

Fall Harvest Harvest.. : )..
Here are some of my favorite things about the fall harvests I participated in recently. A picture with some great friends, some great wines, and a little grape vine votive candle to boot. I found the photo holder at Hobby Lobby one of the days where I scored a bunch of items and still spent less than $6.00. It was my regularly priced item that I got an additional 40% off, while just about everything else from that trip was on clearance sale. : ).. I've been waiting and waiting and waiting to finally use the photo holder, knowing that I was going to get the chance to help two of my favorite local wineries harvest their grapes. Such a great time, such great photos!

Young Puppies Walkin..
Let the puppies enjoy the cooler weather today. They got to celebrate it with a walk around the Independence downtown square. There were lots of places to sniff and I think Fergus was tinkled out about halfway through the jaunt. Lol. He still tried to go on the way back, but I think he was runnin low. : ).. We wore them out, gave them a cool drink of water and ended their trip with a stop at Petsmart where there were even more things to sniff, more stuff to tinkle on and lots and lots and lots of dogs to bark at.
We found out, Milo is checking in at 18 pounds, Emmy is close behind at 17 and Fergus is quickly gaining, weighing in at 12.9 pounds. Pretty good for an eight month old puppy.
Here are some pics from the walk..
It was way too bright to really tell how well they were
coming out..
Tinkle, tinkle little star..
I wasn't quite going for that shot,
but again, it was hard to see with
the sun and my iphone screen. Lol.
The Ferginator ferginating..
Milo maxin and relaxin..
Emmy eminatin..
And finally, Emmy channeling
her inner Olympic gymnast,
workin it on the balance beam..
She says she's ready for the catwalk now..
Lol.

But soft...
But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief
That thou, her maid, are far more fair than she..
Oooh. Wait. It's just the backdoor
light that our new neighbors thought
would look great, if it was left on
allll night long.
Awesome.
'Preciate that.
Yup. It's just that bright. It's like one
of those 1000 candle watt lights that they make.
Ugh. Hope it runs their electric bill up. : )..
Ha! Actually, I'm sure our dogs will find something
to bark at around 2am when they have to go out
in that illuminated back yard.
They won't think it's such a good idea then.
They just about scared the schtickey out of me
late Thursday night as well. It was dark and I was
about to get in the car and run to the store,
when all of a sudden! There was a florescent
flashlight moving around in the darkended
house that hadn't had anyone in it for months.
I'm tellin ya! I was ducking, backing out in a hurry
and about to call 911 when I noticed their
vehicle parked in their driveway. Whew!
I'm tellin ya, I thought I jumped when
some cops were yelling, "Get on the ground!!!"
a few weeks ago! Lol. I was mooovin
after the flashlight incident! Lol.

My Old Friend~Tim McGraw Lyrics
Went to work only to find out that we lost yet another ADT / Tyco family
member. This one was still young, but filled with so much fun and laughter
that she got a lot out of her 33 years on Earth. May Beth Good rest in peace
and join the countless others that we have lost in the last few years.
Ms. Good / Ms. Great / Ms. Always bubbly and smiling..
Don from our resource desk..
Mat from our inbound department..
One of my former managers, Mr. "Rontastic!" Burns..
May the one(s) who took him from us know no peaceand those who knew him, know peace and comfort.
One of my former training assistant new hires, Loyd..
You never knew just how much we would miss you..
Another one of our inbound personalities, Glenn..
And another one of our managers, Vivian..
There were a few others that we have lost these last few years.
We actually were all intact last year, but the year before that
saw us lose five people, and we are up to four this year. : (..
My heart goes out to all of their family and friends. May they
all know much peace and comfort. And lemme tell ya, between
Beth, Don and Ron, Heaven is hoppin today! Lol. I don't think
they knew what was in store for them up there. : ).. Until we
meet again, y'all keep the party goin.

Dinner Theater.. : )..
Went to Dixon's Famous Chili in Independence tonight. They have some pretty good chili.
Our dinner theater occured outside at the street corner.
One vehicle ran a red light and t-boned another.
Not a major wreck, but enough that one car had trouble
opening their doors and there was a little smoke coming out
from under the hood.
Luckily, there was a group of Kansas City PD and Swat
members finishing their dinner there as well. Lol.
A couple of them jogged over to control the situation
until the Independence Fire, Ambulance and Police arrived.
Usually I feel a little woozy from the firemen
who visit my employer often..
However, I might have to include
wooziness for Swat members as well. : )...
Lol. Men in uniforms.
Hubba hubba hubba.
Umm hmm.
Uniforms.
Is it hot in here?
Yeah. Must be the chili.
Umm hmm.
The chili.
Yeah.
That's it. : )..
