Welcome

Just a few rambling thoughts and crafts from a mind that is full of both. I am talented in my mind but regularly run full throttle into the wall of procrastination. I have raised procrastination to an art form. A friend once told me I have a BS in BS and a minor in excuse making. If there is anyway to get out of doing my best, I will do my best to get out of it. Welcome to my saburban life. : ).. Lol.

Yay for Thursday...

K. Sooo. My 'puter or account won't post my comments, not sure if it's a 'puter or account / blogger issue, so I will start off saying Thanks to Debbie. : ).. I love my crockpot and have some healthier choices to make too. Thanks for letting me share on your newbie party.

Next.. Here is a little bitta humor to take us into Friday.

A man was stuck in traffic that was at a complete halt for an hour. Finally someone came up and knocked on his car window. "Terrorists have taken Congress hostage and are threatening to set them on fire if the U.S. doesnt pay them $10,000,000. We are going around taking up a collection". The guy asks, "How much are people giving, on the average?" the guy answers, "Oh, about a gallon of gas each."

EZ PZ Chicken in a pinch..

Here's a quick and easy crockpot chicken recipe for those who are either culinarily challenged like myself, or those who work long hours and like to come home to a ready made dinner.  : )..
Soften the cream cheese, stir in the cream of chicken soup and dry Italian Dressing mix.  Add frozen chicken breasts and cover with the creamy mixture.  Cook on high 4-6 hours and serve over rice or egg noodles.  EZ PZ and pretty tasty.  : )..

Hmm.. If it aint broke..

Tried a new page layout and lost my old settings.  Super.  : )..  Well, figured now was as good as any to change the look of my page, so here we go.  I like some of the features the new layout had but it wouldn't save it like I wanted.  It had a flipcard setting that showed all of my posts from the past in a continuous, column, row format.  It kept reverting back to a bland list view though.  Sooo, I guess this will work for the time being.  I also can't remember what font I had used before, so I will probably continue to fiddle with the page in the coming days until I am satisfied again.  Sigh...  Learn something new every day...

A little bitta cuteness..

Had a good day full of shrimp, margaritas, mexican food, walking around the Country Club Plaza's Art Fair and then hitting the casino to make a boat payment.  Lol.  Still walked out with money in my pocket, so that's a good thing.  : )..  Here are some cute pics to peruse.

I feel like a bad puppy momma..

Milo jumped on our couch and cut the pad on his left foot on a furniture tack last night.  : (..  He hobbled around for the longest time and for a while this morning.  He was back to his same old self by mid-afternoon, running happily across the back yard to chase and bark at a squirrel that was outside our fence.  Lol.  I felt soooo bad though.  It's his first injury and I know that it had to hurt because those pads are pretty tough and calloused.  Poor little guy.  I fed him as many puppy cookies as were good for him and babied him last night and today.  I'm glad it's better.  Yay.  I still feel horrible though.  Bad tack!

Random ramblings for the day...

I noticed several, miserable, sniffly, sneezy, stuffed up co-workers today. Allergy season is running rampant here. Word of advice: if you have allergies, buy locally harvested honey from as close to your home and eat a spoonful a day. You will build a tolerance for the pollen in your area.

Got weeds? Apparently they don't like vinegar and water.

Husbands don't understand that even though they had the entire day off and are off tomorrow but their spouses were awake until 4am the night before and didn't get a lotta sleep, that when the sleepy spouse goes to bed because their shaggy puppies have an early morning date with the groomer and so the sleepy spouse turns out the light and ays down quietly it's not the opportune time to flick on the hall light and keep chatting away. Do they have an off button?

Lol. Umm. That's about it for now.

On a serious note however, my heart is still with the Sheley family for a tragic loss they suffered this week. My worst troubles pale in comparison and so I wish them comfort and much love and support.

Dang.. Looks like it's going to be a looong football season...

I can't decide if the Chiefs are tanking to get rid of a coach or what is going on. I guess we have lost three of our big players to injuries, one of which is already out for the rest of this year? The rest of our team has turned Red Fridays into Red Sundays. Sheesh. Second game into the season and our opponents both beat us 40+ points to barely any for us. It was 48-3 today. Ohhhh. Are you ready for some football? Could you come play for us? Lol. It's.. Going.. To.. Be.. A.. Loooooooooong, long, long season. Dang. Whew. Yikes!

Crazy busy day today..

I knew today would be crazy so last nite I cooked breakfast in the crockpot using a recipe found on Pinterest. Hash browns, sausage, mozzerella and Parmesan cheese, milk, eggs, salt and pepper. Let it cook overnight and it turned out really well. Took the pups to the puppy store, went to lunch, went to a wedding (Congrats Jamie and Matt!) and made it to two birthday parties on the way home. Whew. I'm beat. : ).. Crockpots rule. And they cook a lot better than I do.

Also heard continuous barking last nite and saw that our neighbors dog Daisy had gotten loose (after being left outside all nite again) and was racing another neighbors dog up and down their fenceline. Daisy ran and ran and ran! Jackson barked and barked and barked! Our neighbors who love animals never once checked to see why their dogs were barking. I'm hoping Daisy has decided to go and fond a family who will love her but she probably laid down on their porch after all that running. She had fun though! Whew. Go Daisy!

My Project Revealed..

Worked a couple hours yesterday, long enough to reveal my undercover project and then call it a day.  I was not feeling well at all, came home and slept from 6pm until 3am.  I missed posting on here altogether, but it just wasn't happening last night.  Whew.  Feeling better today, sooo, here is my big project that went really well!  : )..  It was worth being at work for the time that I was there.
With a lot of help from two co-workers, Gloria and Erika, we created a photo album filled with individual messages to our co-worker Kita who is moving to Irving, TX this weekend to become a Training Manager.  We ended up with almost 160 responses, which were all added to the project. Erika added stamps to the book because it had lines which weren't needed because we added messages instead of photos.  The book turned out really well, and Kita loved it!  : )..  I knew that she would.
Sorry for the shaky video in spots, Milo was helping me out.  Lol.

We also helped Kita prank the prankster who was the mastermind behind her car wrapping.  She wanted to come out on top of the pranking, so along with our QA manager, my co-worker Brenda and I told Tracy (aka the car wrapper) that one of our HR representatives had called us into her office to discuss the previous evening's prank and that we were all in trouble!  Lol.  I wasn't sure that I could keep a straight face, but I made it through it.  Tracy thought it was a prank at first because Kita had a different manager prank Tracy a couple days before, but she really got worried when I said our HR rep was "pretty stern" when I was in her office and that they were having the surveillance tapes pulled.  She was mortified when she was in HR until Kita popped in and let her off the hook.  The HR rep was in on the prank as well and was great.  Tracy thought she was in sooo much trouble.  Lol.  Go Kita!

Ha! Fun with co-workers! : )..

Sooo.  We have a couple pranksters who have delighted in pranking each other, and have both had some mega pranks that were pulled off with perfection.  However, one of our pranksters is moving to Irving, TX and will be going from a Training Assistant here to a Training Manager there.  We wish her well, but, lol, after the great prank she pulled Tuesday, our other prankster couldn't let her leave unanswered.  Here's the retaliation!  : )..
Subject: RE: Shenanigans! : )..

 It’s funny at first…
Let the unraveling begin…and the realization of how many rolls we used…
We went around and around and around, under and over and under and over…
(that would be three 300 foot rolls of Saran Wrap and a little industrial shrink wrap to boot! lol!)
Needing back-up, she is hungry for a cheeseburger so she breaks out a pen..
Desperation kicking in, come on ya’ll..I’m hungry!
 The pen wasn’t working..
Phew!! LOL Notice it’s dark outside now…
We wish ya well Kita!  Aren't you going to miss us?
(This wasn't my undercover project, that's coming tomorrow..  Lol.)

Milo was buggin out today.

Lol.  He came up to me, sat down and stared at me for a second before I noticed something a little different with him.  : )..
It's a dead moth that he found somewhere.
It was dried and stuck to his nose for the longest time.
Ha!  It's also his 11 month birthday today.
Happy Almost One Year Old, 11 month birthday
to the sweetest puppy I have ever had!

I figured out how to do labels on here. Yay!

Whew.  Learn something new every day.  I finally figured out that the little "Labels: Show All" box at the bottom of my New Post page will letcha label the posts so that they can be linked together by category.  Wow.  Durr.  : )..  I never said I was observant.  I have said that I am still a work in progress when it comes to learnin all the "bloggin" steps.  Anyway, it's great to be able to find some of my older posts with ease.  Awesomeness.  Ha!

Whats for dinner tonight? : )..

Gotta work this evening, but that's ok because I get to see my little project which was getting a little bling bling and scrapbookin work done to it over the weekend by one of my creative co-workers.  : )..  That little project is still goin really well, I'll be postin the results before the weekend.  Woot!

Anyway, here's what is gonna be for dinner here tonight.  Looks and sounds yummy.

Next craft item..

So, I took this tray..
And three of these 50 cent cardboard stars from Hobby Lobby..
And these metallic paints that I have had for a while..
Painted the tray black with paint I also had before..
And added the stars..
Nuttin terribly fancy..
But I kinda like it..
 First star is "Worn Penny"
Middle star is "Venetian Gold"
And the last star is "Rich Espresso".
Soo, despite a lack of fundage,
a little bit of creativity
comes in handy.
And, I finally got to do something
with my trays.  Lol.
Gonna have to do for now.

We will..

Never forget..

Craftin on a dime budget..

Sooo, my craft budget hasn't been looking very promising lately.  Therefore, ha!  I am making myself find creative outlets on a dime budget.  I have had these great trays sitting around forever when I started an idea that kinda stalled out.  It's still there waiting to get put into play, I just couldn't find the items I needed to finish them like I wanted.  Anyway, here are some ideas that came about recently using some of the supplies I already have squirreled away.  : )..
Exhibit A:
Exhibit B:
Exhibit C:
Yup.  Same tray, three different looks.  Can't decide which I like best.

More craft ideas tomorrow.

Workin on a lil project for work.. : )..

It's comin along realllly well.  I am excited about it.  I think it's going to be a HUGE mega hit.  Lemme tell ya!  : )..  With what I've got so far, and what I'm about to get for it, it's going to be HUGE.  HUGE I tell ya!  Yay!  Yay!  Yay!  I'm havin a pretty great mornin!  Woohoo.  I'll letcha know how it turns out here shortly.  It's an undercover operation.  But it's gonna be huge.  Mega.  Gargantuan.  Awesomeness!

it's Friday!

And finally, a little aww to start your day right.  : )..
Lol.  I'm going in to work early tomorrow and yet, here I am, still on the 'puter.  : )..
Procrastination strikes again.  I'll go to bed..  Eventually.
Sleep schmeep.

New Red Hot Chili Pepper Song..

I love the RHCP's sound on this new song, but apparently, their lyrics are a little..  Racy?  Hmm.
I guess I hadn't actually listened to them.  Still a great sound.

LGG.. Lol!

Alrighty.  Went to listen to Lady Gaga on my way home from work and accidentally clicked on this link because it said "Official video" and didn't stop this clip from playing.  Lol!  I am glad that I didn't.  I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!  If you have watched the video, this will be hilarious!  If you haven't watched it, it's still pretty funny.  Ha!  Glozell cracked me up!
The sound is a little loud at the beginning, but is fine after that.  : )..

Lady GaGa.. Lol..

As much as I abhor her "I'm On the Edge" song (it gives me this insane urge to push her over it), I really love her newest one, "You And I".  I guess I'll have to settle for pokin her with a cattleprod everytime she tries singing the "Edge" song now.  Lol..  Come here..  Bzzzt..  Now stop that!  : )..  Ha!  Bzzt!  BZZZT!  Wanna stop singing that song now?  Tell people to stop (Bzzzt!) playing it too.  Blech!  Be warned though, lol, this is a racy Lady Gaga video, which I'm sure isn't unusual.
"I'm on.."  Bzzzzzzt!  "I"  Bzzzt!  "I was going to say, I'll stop!"  Lol.

Woot.. : )..

Soo, had a busy Labor Day weekend, thanks to all those who have sacrificed so much for others. We appreciate all that has been done so that we can someday live in peace.

The other half spent a pretty good chunk of the weekend enjoying Greaserama. Think he must have had a good time, and he was nice enough to toss some fundage my way. Ergo... I got this little guy.  Either I was having trouble seeing in the dark rain and thought I saw Lemurs and tiki guys or they sold them. Actually I am betting that I was seeing things. Lol. Anyway, he's cute no matter what. Now he needs a name... Been trying to come up with one but haven't picked the right one yet... Hmm. Scratchin my head. It will come to me in a flash! Until then... I'm gonna rest a bit. : )..

Modem issues..

Went back to Santa Caligon days today and got to enjoy it without the rain. Whew. It was sooo nice outside today. Great day to relax and enjoy my break. My other half bought me some yummy Smirnoffs soo I had a great day indeed. : ).. Not able to post on my home 'puter right now so I'm pokin at my iPhone for a minute.

That being said, here's somethin funny for anyone who has to work tomorrow.

How to install a home security system..
1. Go to a second-hand store and buy a pair of men's used size 14-16 workboots.
2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns & Ammo magazine.
3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazines.
4. Leave a note on the door that reads:
Hey Bubba,
Me, Big Jim, Duke and Slim went for more ammunition. Back in an hour. Don't mess with the pitbulls, they attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up real bad. I don't think Killer took part in it but it was hard to tell from all the blood. Anyway, I locked all four of'em in the house. Better wait outside. 'Cooter'

Calmness in our lives..

I am passing this on to you because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace. Dr. Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and never finished."

So, I looked around my house to se all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Vallium prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates, and a half bottle of Scotch.

You have no idea how good I feel right now. Pass this on to those whom you think might be in need of inner peace. (posted from a friend who thought I was in need of said inner peace, may we all find it soon)

Great photo idea!

Just got back from the Independence, MO downtown square where I went to my first Santa Caligon Days festival.  It was raining, although, lol, not even anywhere near the deluge that hit this afternoon when I thought about going.  I got a little damp, but it was worth it.  Walked around and looked at the craft booths and found a few things that I might just have to mosey back and purchase.  There is a person who is selling the cutest little aloe vera animal planters.  They are monkeys, pandas, some little tiki dude and my favorite, a lemur.  The aloe vera plant sticks up out of the top of their heads and looks like little spiky hair.  They were definitely on my list of "I want this" for sure. I would have taken a picture but by the time I was there, it was dark and I didn't think my iphone picture would turn out.  Luckily, the guy says he will be there for the rest of the festivities.  Yay!

Came home to dry out and spent a little time cruisin through the Pinterest site and found this great site.  It's a tutorial for adding photos to a canvas frame.  How great is that?  Seriously.  It's awesome.  : )..  And sooo ez to do.  Check out this website for the details!
I know what my next Modge Podge project is going to be.
Love it!

I love this table!

I ran across this great page the other day.  Check out the great job Kristine did on her table.  I love it.  It looks soo inviting, I want to sit down and stay a while.  : )..
Awesome!
